Fresh Figs #10 ~ Jean-Robert P. Beffort
heyheyheyhey! happy Sunday to you!
if you are reading this on a Sunday!
if not, happy Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday / the remaining days of the week, to you!!
i love exclamation marks!!!
um, ok. this work is by a brilliant / eccentric / obscenely talented artist called Jean-Robert P.Beffort 😀
Jean-Robert says ~ ~ ~
My collage art started 20+ years ago with art-mail postcard/letter correspondences with my older brother which still continues to this day. Due to this origin my collages nearly always include both text and images that provide a layered visual and mental narrative (telling a story). I find it essential that both modes exist in union for balance of polarities such as left brain/right brain, magnetic/electric, sound/light, and atlantis/lemuria. What started on my kitchen table has now grown to running a)sp.”A”©e Studio•Art•Gallery for the last 5 years in Silver City, New Mexico exhibiting my 2D text/image collages and 3D assemblage sculptures as well as showcasing other local artists.
CHECK JEAN-ROBERT’S FACEBOOK / WEBSITE / GALLERY IF YOU LIKE, OK NICE
ta ta for now [!!!!!!!] x

Fresh Figs # 5 ~ Danai Gkoni
HELLO! new work this week [week 5 of ‘Fresh Figs‘] comes from Danai Gkoni 😀 the collage above is called ‘Touristic Season’ and the one below is ‘Storm is Coming’… here’s Danai’s bio ~ ~ ~
Τhe cities I lived in are constant inspirations as spatial and social conditions ~ those images are dystopic and entertaining at the same time. Coming from the field of architecture I’m deeply interested in the dynamics of space and the built environment, the urban lifestyle and its aesthetics, the pleasure of urbanity as a space of togetherness and isolation at the same time- those are the concepts I try to explore as a digital artist.
Danai Gkoni is an architect and digital artist. She has lived, studied and worked in Greece and the Netherlands. During her studies, she developed a keen interest on the contemporary urban condition. With architectural collage as a starting point, since 2013 she is exploring a particular style of digital illustration- narrating surreal and sometimes dystopic urban stories.
and here are Danai’s tumblr, website and society6

Fresh Figs #2 ~ Zach Collins
HEY! here’s the second installment of ‘Fresh Figs’, in which i post a-m-a-z-i-n-g art people have sent me (submission guidelines here)
this week i’m very proud to feature one of my favourite collage artists ~ Mr Zach Collins
‘Zach Collins was born in Grinnell, Iowa. He received his BA from Upper Iowa University, his MA from the University of Iowa, and his MFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He is currently living in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he is pursuing several art-related projects. His work, which is shown extensively both in the U.S. and internationally is about memories: tragic, humorous, and everything inbetween. Zach experiments with ironic and often unrecognizable imagery. His work is an investigation of the unexpected associations that are created by combining fragmented materials through collage.’
here are Zach’s Tumblr, Flickr, Etsy and Instagram

WordPress Blogs I Like a Lot (Part 1)
as i’ve been nominated for a few ‘awards’ over the past year or so, i thought i’d do a series of my favourite WP blogs as a (sort of) response (that avoids answering questions about myself hehe 😉 ). here are the first 4, you all ~ ~ ~
an immaculately curated collection of photos / montages / collages / ephemera with no clue (i could find) of the curator’s identity. categories include ‘geometric’, ‘girls’ and ‘skateboarding is awesome’
*
vintage / weird (in the best way) collages by Naomi Vona. Naomi uses old photos, stickers, markers, price tags.. her work is dark and sweet; the other artists she admires are also amazing
*
gentle, surreal and satirical watercolours & drawings by Spanish artist Rosa de los Vientos, ‘just for the fun of sharing in a world full of decline’..
*
free-form architectural sketches by Italian artist, writer and musician Marco Bigliazzi. everything Marco does is full of skill, colour and a strange kind of dystopian energy
*
i’ll post another 4 soon! HOPE YOU ENJOY(ED) 😀
