  1. It’s a beautiful image, but I hope the guy is not going to hell. 😉

I love that this work alludes to lots of different possibilities, allowing a multiplicity of interpretations. My personal take on it was that the man is sitting on a time machine and is giddy with anticipation and also trepidatious waiting to see where in time he arrives.

  5. This one is really ”elevated” Fig! Haven’t seen the previous title – was it The earth is tiny? I like to is see it as a time machine. Or as rocket science! 🙂

hey lia, it was called ‘journey to the centre of the earth’, as in the jules verne book / film, yep? this one has had loads of negative connotations pointed out to me, none of which i originally intended! 1. “it looks like he’s sitting on an electric chair”. 2. “it looks like he’s on fire”. 3. “it’s like he’s riding a giant phallus that’s f**king the earth”…. lol 😉

Striking image – I love how it all pull itself together in a quirky little composition. Also, the man’s outfit is so posh.

yeah i can’t remember who the desinger is, but the title of the article was “the man bringing hipster to africa”, or something. i love the sock / shoe combo hehe. thanks dude! 😀

  7. Wonder which direction he is going in?

well, it was originally called ‘journey to the centre of the earth’ (see comments above), so definitely down! maybe now the story is – he has to bore down into the earth to travel through time or………… the concept has fallen apart somewhat 😦 😉

Splendid composition. It suggests – archetype – a sacred image or mystic symbolism, such as Tarot.

    • Hello, Fig says:

like that, elme, like that. i’d say this one has drawn more interpretations than any other thing i’ve done. which is good, right? 🙂
