You are making great collages! 🙂

    • Hello, Fig says:

You are welcome! 🙂 Is it a totally just for fun thing or is it something you sell or publish except from here? (Well, it could be fir fun anyway of course) Maybe you have written it somewhere, but I did not look through.

I do not know if it is good to compare, and compare with other similar things, but there is a Swedish artist, Jan Stenmark, quite famous in Sweden that publishes similar collages in Swedish newspapers etc. He does similar things as you, and combines them with some text. Here is one that I found 15 years ago that is terribly funny, The text is in Swedish and says

“I actually thought it was a binoculars/telescope and that she was stupid/nuts.”

oh wow those are amazing.. yes, funny and kind of haunting / dark in places too 😀 wish i could draw 😦

atm i’m very much an amateur just trying things out / playing around, but a handful of my things were recently taken by the newer york, and i’ll probably try to step up in terms of effort / style / trying to appear in more places / sales next year

        thanks for the link! x

Wow thats cool. But Come on! 🙂 Your stuff is super cool. Your work keeps in general very high quality, at least according to me. They are sharp and full of life, and are very artistic, surprising and dynamic.

Do not worry about the drawing, practice it and you will learn if you want. Anyway, it looks good with the method you use, just bring up the pen! There are several creative areas, where you can do great work without being able to draw or paint I guess, photography for example, dance, theatre, music, film etc etc.

      • Hello, Fig says:

thank you for the complements, emanates, i’m properly flattered 😀 i’ve tried my hand at almost all the things you mention (except dance!!) .. kind of see myself as a ‘retired’ musician / wannabe prose writer who happens to make collages atm!

it seems setting up an ‘official’ store (as in, installing a plug-in) on wordpress.com isn’t possible.. so i’m just going to do a Page and ask people to pay via paypal. i’ll then mail the originals / prints with free postage to wherever in the world.. any on here that you fancy? 😉

Love this! Where do you get the images for your collages? are they from old magazine or news papers? or do you get them from the internet?

    • Hello, Fig says:

yep mainly old magazines [life, photoplay] and random books i’ve acquired.. i rarely print directly from the internet. nice to hear from you lily! ben 😀
